Oh hi there! Kicking off the first post of this year with a monthly favourites (although this is kind of a dual January/February collection of sorts.) Firstly, and most used, is the NUXE Rêve de Miel Lip Balm. This is pretty much an all-year-round favourite and hands down the best balm out there (in my opinion.) If the old myth that honey has healing properties is true, this lip balm pretty much proves it.
Up next is the Jurlique Rosewater Balancing Mist. This has been on my wishlist for quite some time, so it was no surprise that when I recently got my hands on it in a value set it became an instant favourite. It dries fast, smells of actual roses and if you prefer a mist or spray over an oil, as I do, this is a definite try.
You had me at peony. While I don’t tend to wear perfume much, and after having run out of my staple scent – Flora by Gucci Eau Fraîche – I wasn’t really looking to pickup a new fragrance any time soon. But the past month brought this beauty into my life: Elizabeth and James Nirvana White. Notes of peony AND lily of the valley? Count me in.
Okay, so scent might also have a major part to play in this pick. Next up, the Josie Maran Whipped Argan Oil Body Butter. Two words: Vanilla Apricot. Besides that, this stuff is non-greasy, hydrates like a boss and is formulated without parabens, sulfates and phthalates.
Rediscovering the Stila Stay All Day Waterproof Liquid Eye Liner has been a game-changer this last month or two. It’s both the easiest to apply, and the most reliable liquid liner out there.
What are some of your favourites at the moment?
You know them. They can’t walk by a Sephora or department store beauty counter without itching to have a look at the latest palette or luminizing powder. You’ll find them scouring the aisles, their hands and forearms full of colourful swatches like an artist’s palette. Always full of recommendations and excitedly chattering about new products to test. At least three lippy’s always fall out of their bag every time they need to get something from inside. The Beauty Maven, the skin care connoisseur, the fragrance savant, the eyeshadow expert – whichever they may be, here are some gift ideas for your favourite beauty product pro.

With the advent of rollerballs, it’s made it easier to dabble in different fragrances without having to splurge on a whole spray bottle. *Added bonus for their portability factor, whether it be for long travels or a quick toss into a hand bag or clutch on a work day or night out. Released earlier this year, the Elizabeth and James Nirvana fragrances (there’s two versions, Nirvana Black and Nirvana White) have both been nosing their way onto makeup shelves in fast fashion and for good reason. The Nirvana White is definitely on the floral side, with a blend of peony, lily of the valley and musk, making it a nice, easy, every day scent and the sleek, simple packaging is shiny without being flashy. Roll away!
