After a season of wearing cozy hats to fend off the bitter cold, it’s time to free your follicles. These three picks have been my mainstay hair savers this season so far. As you can see it’s been all about repair with this trio that includes a spray, an oil and a mask.
First up is the Briogeo Rosarco Milk Reparative Leave-In Conditioning Spray. It took about a week of use to see any noticeable difference in my hair. That being said, this is probably the most difference (positive) I’ve seen in my hair since discovering another favourite – the Bumble and bumble Hairdresser’s Invisible Oil Primer. The best way I can think to describe it is that it’s like having the effects of a good haircut without cutting your hair. The brand’s hair mask, the Briogeo Don’t Despair, Repair! Deep Conditioning Mask, is great if you’re one for a weekly deep conditioning as it’s not too heavy and it rinses out really well which can be an issue with some hair masks..
Last, but not least, is the Caudalie Divine Oil. This stuff – use it sparingly if you’ve got finer strands – is great for smoothing any flyaways and adding extra hydration to the ends of hair. This multi-purpose oil can also be used on your face and body as well.
What hair care products have you been loving for Spring so far?
Less is more – that goes for both the price and the number of products when it comes to hair. If you’re on a mission to clear out the hoard of hair products that’s taking over your bathroom counter, here are some finds that have helped towards a major minimization of products for my fine, frizzy and flyaway follicles. While I haven’t been brave enough to give the whole “no ‘poo” movement a try, my own minimizing mission began with cutting out conditioner (and majorly cutting down on shower time/water usage as a bonus!) and only washing my hair with a light shampoo (Live Clean Healthy Balance Shampoo) which is SLS/sulfate free, Petroleum Free, Paraben Free, Dye Free, Phthalate Free, Phosphate Free and Vegan.
Besides that, there are only three products (all drugstore finds) that I am keeping around that all multitask to extend, volumize, condition and style. Dove Invigorating Dry Shampoo is great for us fine-haired girls who need a quick refresh with a bit of volume – without rocking a Marie Antoinette full-blown powdered ‘do. It’s not the only the cheapest, but by far the best dry shampoo I’ve found, although you can’t ignore the legendary Batiste version. L’Oréal Total Repair 5 Repairing Spray gives you all the benefits of a conditioner and detangler with just a few spritzes and is really handy for smoothing out fine, tangly hair without weighing it down at all. Finally, for those stubborn flyaways, especially around the hairline and part, Herbal Essences Set Me Up Hairspray helps things stay put sans the stickiness or stiffness.
Have you tried any of these products? Have they worked/not worked for you?
